Mrs. Keiser began her career in Health and Human Services in 1990. During that time, she has had extensive experience assisting people with developmental disabilities in various capacities. Her involvement began when she volunteered at a Special Olympics event and witnessed the athletes' dedication, ability and commitment to themselves and their goals. At that point, she realized it was something she wanted to continue to be a part of.
Mrs. Keiser has worked in virtually every aspect of Rehabilitation Counseling, assisting individuals with disabilities. She has worked as a hands-on caregiver, Client Case Manager, as well as Group Home Manager and Administrator for several respected ICF DD-H and DD-N facilities. Tania has also had extensive experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF's), monitoring the standards of care administered in various residential care homes. She also served a graduate school internship for the California State Department of Rehabilitation, which afforded her a thorough understanding and familiarity with the State agency, vocational training, job development, and job placement.
Tania served on the Rehabilitation Advisory Board at CSUF (California State University, Fresno) from 1998-2000, and is a member of IARP (International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals), and NAFE (National Association of Female Executives). She is a certified QMRP Specialist (Qualified Mental Retardation Professional), as well as a certified CPR and First Aide instructor from the American Red Cross. She has served as a Behavior Specialist for Aspira (Children and Family services agency), and provided Behavioral Consulting for Porterville Developmental Center, one of the few remaining developmental centers in the state of California.
In 1998, Mrs. Keiser was the recipient for the annual "Outstanding Efforts and Results" award at Loyd’s Liberty Homes, Inc. It was during her tenure at Loyd's Liberty Homes that her efforts were noted on the prestigious Anchor list by federal and state agencies for consistently overseeing and administrating several ICF care homes with zero deficientcies (homes in 100% compliance with state and federal requirements), something rarely seen with such consistency in the care home industry. In 1999 Tania received the "Outstanding Voluntary Service" award for her contributions to Porterville Developmental Center, given to her by the Sequoia Area VIII Board. As the Founder and C.E.O. of Cypress Independent Living Services, Inc., Tania was honored in the "Manchester Who's Who of Executives" in 2002 for her leadership abilities, and is a featured member in the association's World Wide Registry.
As the founder of Cypress ILS, Tania has utilized her extensive hands on experience and professional training to advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities. It is upon these foundations that the driving philosophy of Informed Choice was built. Since its inception in 2001, Cypress ILS has become a leader in providing quality Independent Living instruction for adults with developmental disabilities and has established services and office locations in several cities throughout California and Nevada in the western United States. With the success of Cypress ILS in the Independent Living sector, Mrs. Keiser broadened the sphere of services provided to individuals to include Life Change and Life Transition consultation services and program development. Keiser Rehabilitation Group (KRG) was developed to address the unique needs of individuals addressing life change and transition factors such as going from teenager to young adult, being a minor dependent to one that is independent, adjusting to physical, mental and emotional needs brought about by health or ability changes, and establishing new roles and lifestyle due to change in age and assistive care needs.
Cypress ILS and KRG will continue to impact and provide quality services to individuals at local and regional level as it strives to improve conditions and opportunities for those serviced.
