Our Philosophy Cypress ILS provides its clients with various services focused on such aspects as basic skills development, community awareness, and employment training. But, it is not simply in the attainment of a job, or arriving at a doctor's appointment on one's own that Cypress seeks for its clients. All the services are geared towards one main goal, the philosophy of Cypress: Informed Choice.
It is this skill that empowers all individuals to live their own unique lives. Through the programs offered, the clients are given the opportunity to make their own choices, and the choices they make will be in the context of real life situations, not in such controlled environments as group field trips or seminars. The clients will not only be able to open bank accounts, or choose a particular bank, but will be able to close a bank account and move to another....all of their own volition.
To empower the client to this next level of functionality and choice is what Cypress strives for and attains. To be able to choose what he or she believes is right for his or her own life, and having the ability to chose because the client has been informed and experienced in any number of situations that individuals face in every day life.... this is the goal of Cypress. “Not only to be able to choose...but to able to choose because one knows what the choices are." |
